PRESIDENT TINUBU FLAGS- OFF RECONSTRUCTION OF LAGOS- IBADAN DUAL CARRIAGE WAY

President Bola Tinubu this Saturday flagged off the rehabilitation, reconstruction, and expansion of work on Lagos-ibadan dual carriage way section one, Lagos-sagamu that cut across Lagos and Ogun states with a promise to complete the project in twenty-four months time

Speaking at the ceremony held in sagamu, President tinubu said the ongoing reconstruction of roads across the country was part of the Renewed hope agenda of the current administration to make all roads motorable and encourage road connectivity in order to enhance movement of people and goods across the country

Represented by the governor of ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Mr. President described the Lagos-Ibadan expressway as important to the socio-economic development of the nation as it connects seventeen southern states in the country

While assuring nigerians of abundant road infrastructure, the number one citizen of the nation said the construction and expansion that will commence from Kara-wawa-magboro-arepo down to redemption camp would be provided with over-head and pedestal bridges for the safety of lives adding that the reconstruction would also be extended from sagamu to iperu-remo and ijebu-ode

The minister of works, Senator Dave Umahi in a remark commended President Bola Tinubu for being passionate about the development of road infrastructure in the country stating that the flag off was part of Lagos-Ibadan project phase 2 that includes magboro underpass, Warewa underpass, Arepo underpass and sagamu to iperu-remo that is twenty-four kilometres

The minister informed that the Ikorodu-itokin road would also be looked into as the remaining three kilometres along the ikorodu sagamu road that is currently in bad shape would be completed before its commissioning in may

Senator Umahi warned that his ministry would not pay any of the contractors that failed to follow the laid down procedure in the contractual agreementm
