The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun onĀ Saturday visited the country home of the late Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, in Lagos to commiserate with the family over the demise of the elderstateman
Speaking during the visit, Governor Abiodun described the deceased as a true nationalist who believed in the unity and enthronement of good governance in the country
Extolling his virtues, mr governor described him as a true yoruba man who was passionate about the culture and traditions of the race noting that the Afeniferre leader was bold, fearless fighter and he has been fighting for the oneness of the nation since the colonial era
He informed that the deceased left a good legacy like other sons of the gateway state such as late chief obafemi awolowo, pa Ernest sonekan, chief mko abiola and others
The governor, while urging people to live an impactful life, maintained that pa adebanjo would be remembered for all his contributions to humanity during his lifetime
The first citizen of the gateway state assured that the state government would set up a committee to be headed by the Secretary to the state government, SSG, Mr Tokunbo talabi to work with the family to give him a right passage
Also speaking, the chief of staff to President Bola tinubu, right honourable femi Gbajabiamila, described the deceased as his mentor who contributed immensely to his political life
Responding on behalf of the family, the eldest daughter, Miss adeola adebanjo, thanked Governor dapo abiodun for the visit, which she said would go a long way to comfort the family imploring nigerians to preserve the good legacy of his father by protecting his name
Pa ayo adebanjo died on Friday in Lagos at the age of 96
