The Ogun State Government has clarified reports suggesting that the Court of Appeal dismissed its appeal in an ongoing case with Datkems Enterprises Limited.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the governor, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the government explained that it voluntarily withdrew one of its four appeals due to a technical error in the title.

According to the statement, the remaining three appeals are still pending before the Court of Appeal.

The government emphasized that the withdrawal of the appeal was a procedural decision and should not be interpreted as a legal victory for Datkems, as the substantive issues in the case are yet to be determined.

The statement explained further that the pending appeals are scheduled for hearing on May 19, 2025, and that Datkems has yet to formally respond to the issues raised in them.

Addressing the origins of the legal dispute, government referenced an earlier case filed by Datkems on September 7, 2023, in which the company was initially presented as “Datkems Enterprises Limited, but government records indicated that no such company had been registered, raising concerns about the validity of the case.

The statement added that while legal proceedings continue, government remains committed to due process and expressed confidence in a fair resolution.
