The ancient town of Sagamu was thrown into mourning this Friday as people from all walks of life converged on sagamu central mosque to pay their last respect to the deputy chief whip, federal house of Representatives, late right honourable oriyomi onanuga who passed on last week Wednesday at the age of 59 years old
Dignitaries at the funeral including members of the national and state assembly led by the speaker of the house of Representatives, right honourable Tajudeen abass, the chief of staff to the President, right honourable Femi Gbajabiamila among others
Speaking at the occasion, President Bola Tinubu who expressed shock over the sudden death of the former lawmaker represented sagamu, ikenne and Remo north constituency described her as an hardworking woman whose contributions at the 9th and 10th assembly was unquantifiable
Represented by his chief of staff, right honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, President tinubu commiserated with the people of her constituency and the entire Ogun state over the loss, prayed to God to grant her eternal rest
The speaker of the house of Representatives, right honourable Tajudeen Abass in a remark described the deceased as a diligent woman who gave her people full representation at the green chamber during her lifetime
The Speaker maintained that late right honourable onanuga was a pious woman who demonstrated sterling leadership in handling issues at the committee level especially when she was the chairman of house committee on women affairs
Commiserating with the people of her constituency and the entire state, the speaker posited that the deceased would be greatly missed for being a partner in progress.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has described late right honourable oriyomi onanuga as a dependable ally who committed to the growth of humanity
