The Ogun State government has assured that the 2025 Budget of N1.05 trillion tagged Budget of Hope And Prosperity, is aimed at executing projects that would set the state in the path of development and prosperity.
The Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo gave the assurance this tuesday during the highlights and breakdown of the 2025 media parley held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr Okubadejo said the increase in the 2025 Budget was to continue on the implementation of qualitative and affordable education, healthcare delivery, housing, provision of road infrastructure, youth empowerment and other essential services for the good of the people.
He noted that the budget of the State has increased from N335 billion in 2020 to over one trillion naira in 2025 as a result of reforms put in place and blockage of revenue leakages by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun
The commissioner, however, informed that the state is expected to generate the sum of N194 billion from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs N121 billion from internal generated revenue, IGR, and N228 million from federal allocation compared to N199 billion received in 2024.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan said the N1.05 trillion budget is broken down into N600 billion for Capital and N400 billion for recurrent expenditure which according to him is 50 Percent increased more than the 2024 budget which stood at N703 billion.
The commissioner promised that the budget performance in the current year would be greater than that of previous years charging the residents to continue supporting governor dapo Abiodun on his giant strides of repositioning the state’s economy by fulfilling their financial obligations
