The Ogun state government has reassured security agents of continuous support for their operations towards guaranteeing the safety of lives and property.
Governor Dapo Abiodun who gave the assurance this Thursday while playing host to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, CG Kemi Nana Nandap, expressed commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the state for socio-economic development .
Represented by his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, governor Abiodun commended the Nigeria Immigration Service and other sister security outfits for the effective policing of the state border posts, noting that, that Ogun has always been adjudged one of the safest states in the country reflects the commitment of the agencies to promoting peace and tranquillity across the state.
Mr. Governor also gave kudos to NIS for the effective border management across the country, expressing delight that the attendant security challenges with Ogun as the gateway state are effectively tackled.
In a remark, the NIS Comptroller-General, CG Kemi Nana Nandap explained that she was on tour of the Southwest borders to ascertain the challenges at he posts, adding that Seme and Idiroko borders have been visited with a view to improving the operations there.
Noting that NIS has started deploying e-border technology for better immigration service across the Nigerian borders, the NIS boss assured of partnering the state government to further fight cross border criminalities, saying the task of securing the society is a collective responsibility.
The Deputy Governor received the NIS Comptroller-General alongside the Secretary to the State government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the Deputy Chief of staff to the Governor, Dr. Toyin Taiwo, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya among other government functionaries.#
