The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, has described the gateway inland dry port as a game changer for the nation’s economy and industrial landscapes

The minister made the remark this Friday at the groundbreaking of the gateway inland dry port held at kajola Village in Eweloro local government

Alhaji oyetola said the project marks a crucial step towards achieving efficiency in the nation’s logistics chain adding that the project would serve as a logistics hub that will provide 5000 skilled labour and 15000 unskilled jobs in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola tinubu

He submitted that the inland dry port would help to foister economic growth and attract investment into the country to promote regional development and also help the state to become more attractive for business and investors

The minister noted that the project would also solve the problem of port congestion at apapa and Tin can island port in lagos as inland dry pot provides faster and more efficient alternative in the movement of goods across the country

He informed that as the nation continues to diversify its economy, it is important to invest in infrastructure as it helps in building the nation’s maritime trade

Commending governor dapo Abiodun for the.laudable project, the minister urged the Nigerian shippers council to collaborate with the state government to ensure that the project, is develop with the state of art infrastructure and information and communication technology, ICT, to serve as a model to other inland dry port in the country by meeting international standard,

The minister who promised to implement policies that will promote the nation’s economy enjoined the stakeholders to invest in logistics technology, infrastructure development, and supply chain management
