The Ogun State government has been lauded for prioritising the wellbeing of its workforce through improved access to quality and affordable healthcare.
The Director-General of the National Health Insurance Agency(NHIA), Dr. Kelechi Ohiri gave the commendation at the launch of the state formal sector health insurance scheme in Abeokuta this Tuesday.
The NHIA Director-General who was represented by Otunba Adefeso Adegboyega said the initiative of governor Dapo Abiodun will go a long way in keeping the workers fit,thereby increasing their productivity,adding that the health insurance programme is geared towards the vision of the Universal Health Coverage for Nigerians.
In a goodwill message, the Chairman, Forum of Chief Executive Officers of State Social Health Insurance Agencies, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Ondo State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin pointed out that the formal sector health insurance scheme is a testament to the commitment of the government in the gateway state to ensuring that the citizens indeed enjoy quality healthcare as a fundamental right
He called on the state public servants to key into the health insurance initiative for their wellbeing just as he encouraged the healthcare providers to always deliver quality services to the workers.#
