Ogun State Government says no effort will be spared in ensuring the immediate fixing of poles damaged as a result of rainstorm occasioned by Sunday’s downpour in some parts of Sango in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government.
The government, in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Kayode Akinmade said a team from the state government was in the area on Monday to physically ascertain the extent of damage and to know how to engage the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in carrying out the repairs as well as sympathise with the victims.
Akinmade noted that the cables had not been energized before the destruction, which saved lots of lives.
According to him, some of the less affected feeders have been restored and energized while the clean-up of the affected areas has already started.
Mr Akinmade noted that government will not relent in its efforts to make sure that power is restored to Sango Ota and its environs urging those living in the area to remain calm.
