The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the installation of the publisher of The Point Newspapers, Alhaja Lateefat Oyeyemi Kolapo as the Iyalode of Egba Muslims as a well deserved honour.
The Governor also noted that her installation is a testament to her life of service as a devoted Muslim marked by strong morals.
Governor Abiodun stated this this Saturday at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, during the installation ceremony of Alhaja Kolapo, who is also the first female Group Business Editor of the Punch Newspapers, as the Iyalode of Egba Muslim.
The governor, who was represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo also noted that her installation is an endorsement of her strength of character and sterling leadership qualities.
Governor Abiodun who expressed optimism that the Egba Muslim community would benefit from the new Iyalode’s invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to service, said that her wealth of experience will equip her to discharge her duties accordingly.
In a remark, the Governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello, saud that the installation of Alhaja Kolapo has shown that Egbaland has not deviated from its age long culture of rewarding excellence and brilliance, noting that the new Iyalode represents the Egba spirit very well in every capacity she has found herself.
Governor Bello, who was represented by Senator Abubakar Ohere, also commended the experience, expertise, and dedication of Alhaja Kolapo to duty, saying that her conferment was well deserved.
Earlier in his message, Mufasiru of Egbaland, Dr. Taofeek Amolegbe, while congratulating the new Iyalode of Egba Muslim urged her to continue to be a coordinator of people around her.
Dr. Amolegbe also described the title of Iyalode of Egba Muslims as a title meant for those who can manage others around them.
