The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised the people of the state more developmental projects that will enhance human life during the new year
Governor Abiodun made the promise in his mesaage at the cross over
night service to usher in the new year held at the cathedral of St Peters, Ake in Abeokuta
The governor explained that his administration would concentrate on policies and programs that would elevate the welfare and welbeing of the people of the state calling on the residents to enter year 2024 with renewed hope as his administration is working hard to cushion the effects of the dwindling economy currently affecting the nation
He noted that 2023 had been a challenging year for many Nigerians as a result of the precarious economic situation and the apprehension caused by the last election but thanked God that the unity and peace of the nation still remain intact despite all odds
While congratulating the people for making it into the new year, governor Abiodun assured that his administration would redouble its efforts towards meeting their needs, pledging to do so with sincerity, humility and integrity as well as govern with unwavering dedication, equity , inclusiveness, accountability by upholding the rule of law.
Reflecting on the journey so far, governor Abiodun emphasized that his government has achieved significant milestones, covering substantial grounds across the state, assuring that all the ongoing projects would be completed while new frontiers would be opened under the “ISEYA” mantra, even in the face of global socio-economic challenges.
Speaking on infrastructural development, mr governor noted that power and water supply had been enhanced and expanded to many parts of the state promising that major cities in the state would soon start to enjoy twenty-four hours uninterrupted power and water supply adding that the State remained the first in Nigeria to deploy compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled buses, which has resulted in reduced transport fares .
The governor who assured that the current administration would build on the foundation laid during the first time called for more support and prayers from the people promising that he would ensure fulfilment of all the promises he made to the people of the state in the course of electioneering campaign
The diocesan Bishop of egbaland, Bishop Emmanuel Adekumle, in his sermon, urged the political leaders to implement policies that would make life more meaningful for people in the new year
