The Supreme Council of Owu Muslims under the leadership of Imam Sulaimon Kehinde this monday installed Alhaji Ismail Akindele as the Baba Adeen of Owu Muslims and conferredthe title of Somori Adeen of Owu Muslims on his wife, Alhaja Sidiqoh Akindele.
Speaking at the turbaning, the Sultan of Owu Muslims, Dr M. OLA Yusuf said the title is not for wealth, as it was conferred on him because of his good conduct and active participation in the religion.
On his part, the Baba Adeen of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola Said he has the knowledge and wherewithal to carry out the responsibilities of a Baba Adeen, noting that the Owu Kingdom is deeply rooted in religion.
In a lecture, the Mufasir of Owu kingdom, Alhaj Sharafudeen Daud lauded the gesture of the Alhaji Akindele towards the development of Islam in the society, lauding the Baba Adeen for the hospital project for the Owu muslims.
The Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, in a remark, said Alhaji Akindele being a son of Owu has good intention for the growth of the kingdom and more of people like him are needed in the society.
The Baba Adeen, Alhaji Akindele said the title conferred on him is a call to serve, promising to contribute his part to the Islam and humanity.
Earlier, at Alhaji Ismail Akindele’s immediate community Mosque, Aduramigba Amororo Mosque, Ogbe, Abeokuta where he was turbaned as the 3rd Baba Adeen of the Mosque, the Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Ismail Muraina-Epemolu submitted that his contributions to the community made him worthy to be conferred with the chieftaincy title
He pointed out that his dad who was the first Baba Adeen of the Mosque, played vital role in the building of the Mosque many decades ago.
Also speaking, the Arowasi of Egbaland, Alhaji Nurudeen Sowunmi stated that his significant contribution to humanity and Islam should be commended.
The wife of the new Baba Adeen, Alhaja Sidiqoh Akindele was also conferred with the title of Iya Adeen of Aduramigba Amororo Mosque, Ogbe, Abeokuta.
