GOVERNOR ABIODUN PAYS GLOWING TRIBUTES TO ALABA LAWSON, PROMISES TO SUSTAIN GOOD LEGACIES

The Ogun state governor, prince Dapo Abiodun says the state government will do the needful in sustaining the legacies of the late iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson.

Governor Abiodun made the promise this Friday at the funeral of the late educationist, held at the African Church Cathedral of the Saint James, Idi-Ape, Ago-Oko, Abeokuta.

The state helmsman described the late chief Mrs Alaba Lawson, the first female president of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) as a philanthropist, a champion and advocate of women right who lived her life to promote the rich Yoruba culture.

Governor Abiodun who commended the late Iyalode for being principled and for her support to the current administration noted that the deceased impacted positively on her community, state and the nation in general

Describing her as a devoted Christian, Mr governor emphasised that she played an important role in the vineyard of God that people will not forget in a hurry

The governor prayed to God to grant the family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss and grant her eternal rest.

The funeral was attended by people from all walks of life including the former president and his wife, chief Olusegun Obasanjo, chief mrs bolanle Obasanjo, former governor senator ibikunle amosun,the wife of the governor Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, the deputy governor engineer Mrs noimot salako-oyedele, members of the national and state assembly, traditional rulers among others
