OGSG DESCRIBES FAITH-BASED ORGANISATIONS AS PARTNERS IN PROGRESS

Faith-based organisations rendering humanitarian services to the society are partners in progress with the government.

This is because such services go a long way in helping the government make life more meaningful for the people.

The Ogun State deputy governor, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele stated this this midweek while playing host to the representatives of the Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, led by the National President, Dr. Abdul-Rafiu Sanni.

Engineer Salako-Oyedele who received the AUD society members alongside the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, on behalf of governor Dapo Abiodun, commended the Islamic organisation for upholding the legacy of the founding fathers,since its establishment, one hundred years ago.

According to the deputy governor, Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria has been performing excellently in the country, especially on education and health.

While congratulating the society on its centenary anniversary, Engineer Salako-Oyedele expressed the commitment of the governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration to promoting religious tolerance among people of different faiths for peaceful coexistence.

In a remark, the National President of the Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, Dr. Abdul-Rafiu Sanni lauded the government for supporting the society in its efforts at assisting the vulnerable as well as addressing societal ills.

According to him, the visit was to notify the government of the activities lined up for the centenary anniversary of the society which was established on the 21st of December 1923.#
