OGSG PROMISES TO FOCUS ATTENTION ON STRENGHTENING VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS.

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo has assured that his administration would focus on strengthening technical and vocational training as part of efforts to address unemployment in the State.

Governor Abiodun gave the assurance when he played host to the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein, in his office, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta,

The governor noted that unemployment has become an issue that needed urgent attention to avoid its repercussions.

He informed that one of the plan of the current administration in the next four years is to strengthen its technical and vocational training sying that it is not everyone that has gone to the university that would want to work for someone.

Governor Abiodun assured that his government would match university education with technical training and proper apprenticeship like what entails in India where apprenticeship is properly structured and those under training are paid not unlike Nigeria where people are learning a trade without being paid.

The governor said his government has pioneered a Special Agro-Cargo Processing Zone that could provide employment opportunities to 30,000- 40,000 people and also also created industrial clusters in Remo, Ijebu-Ode and Magboro, just as a Dry Port is in the offing.

While maintaining that significant progress has been made by imparting on every sectors of the State, as encapsulated in his administration’s developmental agenda, the State helmsman called for a synergy with the Accountant General of the federation”s office to continue to implement the “Building of the Future of the state Together” agenda, as government can not do it alone.

Congratulating Mrs. Madein on the appointment, the governor said her appointment was clearly by merit describing her as a good ambassador of women folks and the state

Speaking earlier, the Accountant General.of the Federation, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein, lauded the present administration for its efforts at attracting more investors into the State through the giant stride the State is making in the area of industrialization.

Mrs. Madein commended the State government for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive by making the provision of infrastructure like good road network, its priority
