Residents of Ijebu-East Local government will continue to enjoy more dividend of democracy as Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun one Thursday commissioned a 2.1 kilometre Esure road, ijebu-mushin in Ijebu-East Local government.
Inaugurating the road, Governor Abiodun assured that all the rural areas within the local government will be powered by solar energy as from nextweek.
The governor explained that the commissioning of the road was another fulfilment of the campaign promises made by his administration during the last electioneering campaign, stating that the idea for the reconstruction of the road was conceived in 2021 during the local government elections campaign.
While describing the local government as important being the largest in the state,Mr. governor hinted that the new road would enhance the commercial values of the area, adding that two graders had been deployed to the local government to smoothen all the rural roads in order to make it motorable.
Commending the traditional rulers for their support, the governor urged the people of the local government to take ownership of the road by ensuring that the road is well guided from being damaged
He implored the residents of the local government to procure their Permanent Voter cards, PVC, in order to elect credible leaders that will bring in more developmental projects into the area
The commissioner for Woorks and Infrastructure, Engineer Ade Akinsanya in a remark informed that the road was formerly in highly deplorable condition which has impaired the movement of the people, highlighting that the reconstruction of the road was part of the efforts of the current administration in transforming the socio-economic status of the state.
