As the 2023 general elections draw closer, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on the people of the state to collect their permanent voter card, PVC in order to discharge their civic rights during the election
Governor Abiodun who made the call on Tuesday at the state Christmas carol and service of nine lessons held at the arcade ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta implored the residents to take advantage of the period introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission to collect the card
While reminding rhem that the card is their voice, the governor said it is only opportunity to select the rightful leaders for the benefit of the people
Mr governor reiterated that the current administration would continue to work towards the advancement of the socio-economic status of the state
Emphasising that the state has recorded unprecedented development since the inception of his administration in the area of infrastructural amenities and effective security mechanism,he informed that the state presently has become the investment destination in the country due to safe environment being provided stressing that the state also rank as one of the safest in the country
While applauding the people of the state for their support , he pleaded with the residents to celebrate the Chrismas with moderation, thanking God for making it possible for everyone to witness another christmas despite various tasking challenges facing the nation
He urged the residents to make use of the teachings of the season by being generous and magnanimous to one another in appreciation of the birth of Jesus
The event was attended by dignitaries including former state governors, military administrators, members of the state lawmakers, state executive, traditional rulers, government functionaries among others
