GOVERNOR ABIODUN READS RIOT ACT TO JULIUS BERGER ON SLOW PACE OF WORK ON LAGOS IBADAN EXPRESSWAY

The man at the helm of affairs at the gateway state Prince Dapo Abiodun has read riot act to Julius Berger Construction Company handling the reconstruction of Lagos-Ibadan expressway over slow pace of work

The governor therefore threatened  to send them packing if the company failed to expedite action on timely completion of the job

Governor Abiodun made the remark on Sunday while playing host to the acting corps Marshall, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, incharge of Lagos and Ogun zone, Alhaji Dauda Biu at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta

He said the contractor has subjected the people plying the road from mowe to Berger to unnecessary hardship whereby motorists spend between three to four hours at a spot due to the slow pace of the job

The governor who frowned at the inhuman attitude demonstrated by the company described it as irresponsible stating that the job had been dragged so long for three months without any hope in sight when it would be completed.

While thanking the FRSC boss for the visit, Mr governor urged the commission to join hands with the officials of the state owned Traffic Compliance Enforcement, TRACE to ameliorate the suffering of the people using the highway

Speaking on indiscriminate parking of trucks at Ogere, Governor Abiodun said the state government has concluded plans to explore all the available opportunities by patnering with stakeholders to put up a befitting trailer parks that would end the incessant crisis along the corridor being caused by the obstinate truck drivers calling on FRSC to collaborate with the government in resolving the menace of the truck drivers at ogeere along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Mr governor while assuring the FRSC Boss of necessary assistance informed that the state government has reconstructed over 400 kilometers roads across the state in order to ehlnhance movement of goods and people and also to reduce vehicular crashes

Earlier, the acting corps Marshall, alhaji dauda biu lauded the governor for the massive infrastructural amenities in the state which according to him has given the entire state especially Abeokuta a face-lift

Alhaji biu explained that he was in the state to flagg off the commission’s yearly ember month programme with the aims of educating the road users about the importance of safety during the ember months promising that the commission would continue to support the government in ensuring free flow of traffic across the state
