The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has restated that the Abeokuta metropolis would continue to be accorded with the much expected developmental projects in order to sustain its present status as the state capital
Governor abiodun gave the assurance this Thursday at Egba division Town hall meeting on the 2023-2025 medium term expenditure framework (MTEF) and 2023 budget held at June 12 cultural centre, kuto in Abeokuta
The governor explained that ogun central senatorial district has enjoyed large number of projects such as good road network, housing scheme and others better than any other part of the state
He informed that out of the over 400 kilometre roads constructed across the state ,the senatorial district enjoys larger part of it including panseke-adigbe road, elite road, obantoko Road,agbado-akute Road, ikorita meters road in ifo local government among others
Describing ogun central senatorial district as important to the state government, governor abiodun assured that the proposed ogun light project with the aims of providing uninterrupted power supply would soon be flagged off in Abeokuta metropolis
The governor while appreciating the people of the state for their support, mr governor who dedicated his recent award from president Muhammad buhari to the people of the state said the current administration since inception has recorded monumental achievements through collective efforts of the people and his executive members whom he described as the best team in the country
Acknowledging the role of traditional rulers in instituting good governance in the state, the number one citizen of the gateway state reiterated that government would continue to involve them in every policy and programs of the government
Speaking on 2023 election, governor abiodun urged the traditional rulers and people of the state to preach peace and political differences from truncating successful election during the forthcoming general election
He stressed that similar meetings have held in Ijebu-Ode, remo and yewa division urging the people of the egba division to afford themselves the opportunity to add their voice to the 2023 budget preparation
The commissioner for budget and planning, honourable olaolu Olambitan informed that the state government has succeeded in achieving a great feat in the state through the provision of workable policies and programs that has enhanced the life of the people of the state
The commissioner while urging the people to contribute positively at the meeting towards the preparation of the 2023 budget said the state government done a lot in the area of security architecture, housing, reconstruction of roads and others advising the residents to use the opportunity available at the meeting to make their input into the budget
