As part of effort to ensure more investment drive into the state, Governor Dapo Abiodun this Friday inaugurated the board of the Ogun state Investment promotion and Facilitation Agency.
Speaking during the inauguration of the ten man board members held at the Exco Chamber, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun stated that the aim of the board is to ensure the state becomes the first destination of choice for investment not just in Nigeria but in Sub-Sahara Africa.
While noting that the state has continued to reap from its various economic reforms, the governor informed that over thirty-six investments worth about one billion dollars has been attracted into the state and generated over forty thousand jobs since the establishment of the Ogun invest.
The state helmsman promised that the present administration will continue to work on increasing the ranking of the state on the ease of doing business index and attracting more investment into the state.
Governor Abiodun charged the board members to be selfless, relentless and investment driven, stressing that their appointment is a clarion call to serve.
The governor also stressed that the townhall meetings towards the preparation of the 2023 appropriation bill would soon commence in the four division of the state, and called on the residents for support and cooperation towards fashioning out the needs of the people.
The director General of ogun invest, mr olakunle amao who also double asbthe secretary of the board while delivering the vote of thanks, applauded the governor for his giant strides towards the development of the state noting that the state has a lot of resources both human and mineral that is capable of making it greater
Members of the committee include commissioner for finance and chief economic adviser to the governor, honourable dapo okubadejo, commissioner for industry, trade and investment, mrs kikelomo longe, commissioner for housing, honourable jagunmolu omoniyi, that of local government and chieftancy affairs, honourable ganiyu hamzat and the commissioner for agriculture, Dr adeola odedina
Others are commissioner for budget and planning, honourable olaolu olambitan, commissioner for physical and urban development, townplanner tunji odunlami, president, OGUNCIMA, Engineer Mike akingbade, Director General, Ogun invest, mr olakunle amao as the secretary of the board while governor dapo abiodun is the chairman
