The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun midweek held a combined ward meeting of all the fifteen wards in Abeokuta South local government with a promise to continue to strengthen membership of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC in the state
Speaking at the meeting held at skating ground, panseke, abeokuta, governor abiodun who commended the party faithfuls for being supportive said government has embarked on massive infrastructural projects especially the reconstruction of roads such as elite road, adigbe Road,lantoro Road and others with the objectives of enhancing lives of the residents promising to work on other roads that are still in bad shape in the local government
Describing Abeokuta South local government as important to the ruling party , Mr governor advised the party members to embark on membership drive in preparation for the forthcoming general election urging them to intensify efforts by attending ward, local government and senatorial meetings
He assured that government would continue to align with the party executive at the various wards in order to know some of the challenges facing them at their respective wards stressing that the welfare of the membership would be given topmost priority in the scheme of things
The governor later had a meeting with representatives from the fifteen wards
Earlier, the APC chairman, Abeokuta South local government, Mr Henry fagbenro applauded the governor for his commitment towards the development of the state promising that members of the party at the local government level would work hard in ensuring that his re-election is guaranteed
