The number one citizen of the gateway state, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured that the 2000 newly recruited teachers employed on the platform of Ogun Teach intern would not be used and dumped.
The governor therefore charged them to be diligent and committed to duty as the confirmation of their employment would be based on their performances and merit
Governor Abiodun made the remark this midweek while addressing the teachers who came on thank you visit to his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta
The governor who noted that out of 5,000 teachers penciled down for employment, 2000 had been employed while the arrangement for the employment of additional 1,000 would soon commence.
Mr governor who thanked the teachers for being appreciative of the activities of the current administration informed that in the past sixteen years ,the state has not employed any teacher which according to him has done a lot of damages to the education sector
Promising that government would continue to prioritise the sector , Governor Abiodun pointed out that the process for the employment of the teachers was based on transparency and equitability, assuring that government would continue to do its best in promoting the sector as Ogun state is known as the education capital of the nation
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu in a remark thanked Governor Abiodun for accepting the idea of Ogun Teach intern when it was presented to him, stating that the entire education sector is happy over the development.
Pointing out that the sector for many years had been facing lack of enough manpower, the Commissioner who described the process for the employment of the teachers as thorough in order to get the best urged them to continue to be hardworking in order to ease the regularisation of their appointment.
Mrs Afolake Oyegunle and Mr Tosin Fatunbi who spoke on behalf of their colleagues applauded the governor for providing jobs for them after many years of being redundant, promising to discharge their duties effectively towards the development of the education sector in order to realise the objectives behind the scheme
