GOVERNOR ABIODUN REITERATES COMMITTMENT TO HEALTH SECTOR DEVELOPMENT

The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated the commitment of the current administration in prioritising the health sector especially the child and maternal mortality.

The step according to the governor is necessary as part of its ISEYA mantra towards the well-being and wellness of the people as only healthy people can contribute to the development of the state.

Governor Abiodun let this out  midweek while playing host to members of Feto Maternal Medicine Association led by its President Professor Saturday Etuk who were in the state for its annual scientific conference at the Exco Chamber, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta

Mr governor while emphasising the importance of health sector to the enthronement of good governance, said the current administration since inception has invested hugely in the sector through the rehabilitation of over 236 primary health centres, PHCs provided with modern day equipment, procurement of over fifty ambulances, improved on the welfare of the medical personnel and ensuring that maternal mortality rate is highly reduced in the state by giving the pregnant women the attention needed

The governor who thanked the association for the visit assured that government would continue to work harder in ensuring that the state being known for its medical proficiency reduce diseases to the barest minimum promising that government would also assist the association in any area deem fit

Earlier, the President of the Association, Professor Saturday Etuk commended Governor Abiodun for the investment in the medical sector which according to him has helped to reduce maternal mortality rate in the state
