President Muhammad buhari has reiterated the commitment of the government at the center to alleviate hundred millions people out of poverty in the next ten years
President buhari made the remark this Friday at the official flag off of Nigeria for women project at mko international stadium, kuto, abeokuta
Represented by the chief of staff to the president, professor Ibrahim gambari, the president explained that the program was put in place to empower women being an integral part of the society
Mr president while expressing satisfaction over the level of progress made so far in the program urges nigerians to work together for the socio-political and economic development of the nation through women empowerment
While describing the success of women as a collective responsibility, the president noted that the success of the program would help to make the nation a leading country in the world interns of addressing the challenges of poverty, insecurity and inequality which according to him will give women the opportunity to play a leading role in the country
Commending the world bank for being supportive to the program, he said three ministers namely minister of women affairs, her counterpart in the ministry of finance, budget and national planning and that of ministry of humanitarian affairs and social development has been saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the success of the program
Also speaking the minister of women affairs, Mrs taleng Pauline explained that the program was in fulfilment of the determination of the federal government to help the women across the country
While commending governor dapo abiodun for his giant stride in assisting women urged other governors in the country to key in into the program
The minister urged the beneficiaries to utilize the empowerment program to better their lives
