The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for supporting the security architecture of the state towards protection of lives and properties
Governor Abiodun gave the commendation on tuesday while playing host to the General Officer Commanding, GOC 81 Division, Major General Lawrence Fejokwu accompanied by Brigade-Commander 35 Artilery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, Brigadier-General Ebrimson Amadason and other senior military officers on his familirisation tour of the units under the division at the Exco Chamber, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.
The governor explained that president buhari has been supportive to the current administration since its inception by giving it the required assistance through the Nigerian Army.
Mr Governor while commending the officials of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the state for their gallant demonstration during the EndSARs protest said the state was adjudged as the most peaceful during the crisis, despite its closeness to lagos as a result of the collaboration between the government and the security agencies
Charging the military officers to continue to assist the government to stem criminality across the state, Governor Abiodun assured that government would improve on the existing relationship with the military formation by supporting them with the necessary logistics to enhance their operations, stressing that the vision of the government is to transform the state economy by creating enabling environment for Public-Private Partnership, PPP through the enthronement of formidable security mechanism for safety of the people living in the state.
He urged the military boss to educate his officers in the Nigeria Customs Services taskforce against smuggling to be civil in relating with the residents in order to minimise the killing of innoncent people
Earlier, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Major-General Lawrence Fejokwu said he was in the state to see how the various units under his division are doing and to thank Governor Dapo Abiodun for the support given to the Alamala Barracks
Major-General Fejokwu assured that the security outfit saddled with the responsibility of protecting the nation’s territorial sovereignty would contiue to be proactive and cooperate with the government in stemming crimes in Ogun State.
