The Ogun State Governor,Prince dapyo Abiodun has assured that the current administration will continue to put in place the appropriate policies and programmes towards providing efficient and effective health care delivery for the people of the state.
Governor Abiodun gave the assurance on monday during the official commissioning of President Muhammadu Buhari International Conference Centre and Telemedicine Hall alongside other five projects at the Federal Medical Centre, idi-aba, Abeokuta
Governor Abiodun explained that as part of its approaches in achieving standard health sector, government has embarked on implementation of various programmes including provision of functional Primary Health Care Centres in all the 236 wards, rehabilitation and equiping of state hospitals, adequate staffing of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH among others
The Governor therefore assured that government would continue to support and partner the Federal Medical Centre, FMC and other medical facilities towards providing qualitative medical care
Mr Governor also called on all health institutions in the state regardless of ownership to strengthen their collaboration and synergize with the state government.
The Governor who described Telemedicine as an innovation in the country assured that government would embrace the system as part of its startegies in providing easier and affordable medicare to the people of the state
Governor Abiodun while commending Senator Lanre tejuoisho for initiating the projects urged the management of the hospital to make maximum usage of the project to better the health of the people of the state.
