It appears residents in sagamu and its environs have abandoned the mandatory use of facemasks as directed by the authorities against the spread of the covid 19 pandemics.
Even with the daily increase of confirmed cases by the NCDC, the people are unperturbed by the development as they went about their businesses in total disregard on the use of facemasks and keeping of social distancing.
Ogbc correspondent, Akeem Sulaimon who took a survey at major markets such as awolowo and sabo markets revealed that most traders have abandoned the mandatory daily use of facemasks.
This is evident with cloth dealers, hawkers, food sellers, cart pushers, as well as roadside sellers to mention a few.
Meanwhile, some traders in a chat with our man believes that the Corona virus is no longer a threat as they go about their businesses without being sick.
According to Mrs Blessing Joseph, the Corona virus is most likely to have been defeated and gone as she has not seen anyone that has the disease but only see repeated numbers of confirmed cases.
A business man, Mr David Adenuga also posited that God’s protection is the main thing in life pointing out that the prayer offered against the pandemic has worked .
Findings also indicated that violators of covid-19 health protocols are no longer arrested by enforcement agents just as most frontline officials are also guilty of non compliance. # Akeem.
