The members of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Account and Anti-corruption led by assembyman Musefiu Lamidi, has charged the management of Olabisi onabanjo University led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ganiyu Olatunde, to correct and reconcile all errors contained in it’s audit report.
The lawmaker gave the charge while considering the audit report of the institution .
Assembyman Lamidi noted that the institution also need to address some other infractions pointed out in the audit reports including inaccurate fixed assets register and non disclosure of account balance amongst others.
He requested for all statement of account and reconciliation reconciliations between 2015 and 2019, as well as provision of all relevant documents in support of all their costlines.
The Committee Chairman urged the institution to update all its accounting records and report back to the Committee by Friday, 11th September, 2020.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olatunde, thanked the lawmakers for conducting checks on the institution’s account books to promote accountability and transparency, with an assurance that all issues raised in the reports would be addressed including the provision of necessary documents as requested by the Committee.
