Ogun state government says, indigenous manpower and material will be adequately harnessed towards bettering the lives of the people of the state.
It also assured that employment generation is key in the current administration’s building our future together drive.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made these known during the presentation of Illuminative Reflective Jackets by Sterling Bank PLC to serve as uniform for workers of the recently created Ogun State Public Works Agency, by Sterling Bank PLC.
Receiving the Sterling Bank team on behalf of the Helmsman, the Deputy Governor, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele said the need to tackle unemployment, ensure good road network across the state as well as adequately utilize indigenous materials among others, necessitated the creation of the state Public Works Agency.
Pointing out that the Socio- economic value of good roads attracted the current administration to investing heavily on it, the Governor said the safety of field workers is also dear to his heart.
While urging Corporate bodies to emulate the bank, he said the adopt a School or Primary Health Centre programme is also a means of lending a helping hand to the government.
Earlier, the Executive Director Institutional Banking, Mr Emmanuel Emefienim said the donation of the 500units Jackets was born out of the Bank’s concern for the safety of the workers, who are exposed to hazard in the course of performing their duties as well as support for the current administration.
