OGUN TASK FORCE HAS INSPECTED THE TOURISM SECTOR FOR COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES COMPLIANCE

As part of post COVID-19 engagements with stakeholders on reopening of economic activities in Ogun State, the state COVID-19 Taskforce this Tuesday visited the largest amusement park and resort in Nigeria, located at lbafo.

The Ogun State Deputy Governor and the Taskforce Chairperson, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele,accompanied by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker and her counterparts in the Ministries of Culture and Tourism as well as Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, went round the facility to see first hand the safety measures put in place amid the pandemic.

Addressing newsmen after the exercise, Engineer Salako-Oyedele said the visit was to assess the facility and see how players in the tourism sector are coping and adapting their enterprises to suit COVID-19, ahead of government’s decision to lift the ban on the sector.

Maintaining that schools, religious and Tourism centres among others, remained closed until government’s further directives, she explained that Governor Dapo Abiodun has also set up a committee to work in collaboration with the Presidential Taskforce and the Federal Ministry of Education to look into the reopening of schools in compliance with Coronavirus safety measures.

She Implored stakeholders affected by the ban to begin to put COVID-19 related measures in place while awaiting government’s response.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker said government will not let its guard down on containing the spread of coronavirus in the state, just as it step-up measures on ensuring quality healthcare system.

In a remark, the Chief Executive Officer of Hi-lmpact Planet Nigeria, Prince Yanju Lipede who agreed that safety comes first by in all human endeavors, especially at this time, informed that all the COVID-19 recommended measures have been put in place at the facility, saying the management is also ready to reduce its capacity in compliance with the measures.
