FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DISMISSES REPORTS ON SCHOOL RE-OPENING

The Federal Government says it can not reopen the schools now because it is not yet safe to do so.

The Minister of State for Education, Mr Chukwuemeka Nwajuba who stated this in Abuja during the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 described reports that government would reopen schools on June 21 as fake.

According to him, the Ministry is not ready to endanger the lives of the students, noting that plans are however underway to bring back to school those that will be exiting the Junior Secondary School to Senior and those who will be writing the West African Examinations council to write their promotion exams.

The Minister explained that the Nigeria would not hastily reopen schools in order to avoid severe consequences that happened to other countries.
