The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has expressed deep appreciation to friends and well-wishers who have demonstrated goodwill and desire to be part of the celebrations on Friday marking his first year in office and his attainment of 60 years of age.
Governor Abiodun in a statement he personally signed thanked God for his benevolent on him and the people of the state for trusting him with the mandate as well as for the tremendous support for him in office.
He however said that in view of the prevailing COVID-19 Pandemic and the guidelines to combat the virus, a low key approach has been adopted to mark the two events.
Nothing that the commissioning of a number of completed projects earlier scheduled to mark the first year in office has been put on hold, He said the ongoing activation of the projects for immediate use by the people will continue.
While reminding government ministries, departments and agencies of the extant directive not to expend government fund on any congratulatory advertorial. Governor Abiodun urged friends and well wishers who wish to place advertorials to donate such funds to the DA-COVID Accounts which would be transferred to the state COVID-19 Account or alternatively adopt a public school or primary healthcare centre for renovation.
