The call for the deregulation of the downstream sector of the nation’s oil and gas industry has again been brought to the front burner.
According to Governor Dapo Abiodun such step will help the federal government to get enough funds to finance infrastructural amenities and other things that will make life better for Nigerians.
The Governor made the submissions on Wednesday while playing host to the Executive Members of Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria,(DAPMAN) led by its Chairman, Mrs Winifred Apani at Oke Mosan.
The governor noted that the large amount of money being paid as subsidy on petroleum by the federal government has not impacted positively on the masses, rather the rich are the major beneficiaries.
While thanking the members of DAPMAN for their contributions to the nation’s economy, he implored them to partner the government to reposition the state for improved economy.
In a remark, the chairman of DAPMAN, Mrs Winifred Apani said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate Governor Dapo Abiodun whom she described as a Technocrat
