The current administration in Ogun State is determined to create Technical Hubs as well as overhaul the state technical colleges.

This is to produce middle-level manpower for the growing economy of the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, Mrs Ronke Soyombo said this in a welcome address at the World Bank-German Dual Vocational Training, DVT Stakeholders Engagement Workshop held this Thursday in Abeokuta.

According to her, the state government is taking the lead in investing in dual vocational training by making the trades being offered attained to the demands of industries, and the trades includes Production Technology, Machines and Electrician Skills, Fabrication, Mechatronic Instrumentation and Control Technology, Power Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation and Drive Technology to ameliorate their employability.

In his words, The Project Coordinator of Ogun State Economic Transformation Programme, Engineer Oluwatoyin Jokosenumi noted that the project is focusing on agricultural development with plans to cultivate over 40,000 Hectares of land, Skill Development and Capacity Building Upgrade of 427 schools, among others.
