The House of Assembly this tuesday during plenary urged the government not to renew the tenure of the committee on transport headed by Barrister Sunday Adeniyi.
Assemblyman Atinuke Bello representing Odogbolu state constituency told the house under personal explanation that the committee has been engaging in activities which are outside its terms of reference.
Other Lawmakers Demola Soneye, Kemi Oduwole, Johnson Fasuwa and Adegoke Adeyanju also condemned the activities of the committee and called on the government to urgently checkmate the members before they cause worse crises in the transport sector.
The Lawmakers warned against the renewal of the three month tenure of the committee.
The Speaker, The Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo however summoned the chairman of the committee, Barrister Sunday Adeniyi and his secretary to report to the house on Thursday to explain their own side of the situation.
The house later asked the acting clerk Mr Deji Adeyemo to forward the resolution to the executive arm.
