GOVERNMENT HAS RENEWED COMMITMENT TO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT

The current administration in the Gateway State would continue to explore all viable avenues towards improving the living standard of the people,especially those at the grass root.

It will also continue to partner relevant world bodies, organisations among towards achieving its set goals.

The Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun said these at once-day training workshop for Local Government Revenue Committee, LGRC members organised by Community and Social Development Agency, in collaboration with the World Bank, held this Wednesday in Abeokuta.

Represented by the Consultant on Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabintan, the Governor explained that the World Bank has special interest in the state, adding that the government would ensure that the funds made available to the rural communities for their various developmental projects are judiciously spent.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, Mrs Mel Ogunremi in a remark charged the committee members to ensure the quick compilation of the needs of the rural areas for onward processing, maintaining that her ministry would ensure full compliance and implementation.

Earlier in a welcome address, the General Manager of the State Community and Social Development Agency, Engineer Shakirudeen Ayinde Salaam gave the names of the pilot Local Governments for the project to include Ipokia, Yewa North, Remo North,Ado-Odo/Ota, Odeda and Abeokuta North.
