President Bola Tinubu has been given a pat on the back for putting the round peg in the round hole towards boosting the nation’s security architecture.
The man at the helm of affairs in the Gateway State, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the commendation on Wednesday at the gala night wrapping up the 2025 conference and retreat for Senior Police Officers held in Abeokuta.
Represented by his Second-in-Command, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun gave kudos to Mr. President for not leaving any stone unturned at ensuring peace, security and prosperity for the citizenry, adding that his steadfastness to national security is evident in the strategic investment in the sector.
Appreciating the nation’s Sheriff, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun and the entire Police Force for their bravery dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the country, the state Number One again gave his word that government will continue to throw its weight the security outfits as well as remain passionate in pursuing the shared goal of building a society where people sleep with their two eyes closed in a safer and more peaceful environment.
He thanked the police chiefs for choosing Abeokuta as the venue of the much important retreat, urging them to translate the deep reflections and strategic discussions at the conference to actionable strategies capable of taking law enforcement in Nigeria to the next level.
In a remark, IGP Kayode Egbetokun who was represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Training and Development, DIG Frank Mba explained that the retreat was to among others ,afford the senior police officers the opportunity to learn, interact and exchange ideas in line with best practices and come up with a wider knowledge of facilitating more effective policing of the country, lauding the state government for contributing meaningfully to the course of advancing national security.
Delivering a welcome address,the Scribe to the state government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, expressed delight that Ogun played host to the senior police officers,assuring that the home government will continue to make security of lives and property, a priority.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of awards to Governor Abiodun and cultural performance by the state cultural troupe.#
