AGAIN! HoS REWARDS DEDICATION TO DUTY VIA COMMENDATION LETTERS
The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, has once again made history by imprinting today on the sands of time by handing over commendation letters to two senior level officers from the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, who have remained committed and dedicated to duty.
The Head of Service, while presenting the commendation letters to Mr. Sakiru Aremu Adebakin and Mr. Adekunle Adams Alimson, Deputy Director and Assistant Director, said the two officers performed creditably while interfacing with top government functionaries, especially when their Permanent Secretary was away on other state assignment, and no adverse report was received from any quarter about the activities of the Bureau.
He said if people can be rebuked for wrong doings, then, when people do the right things, it is good, fit and proper to acknowledge such, hence, the gathering of five Permanent Secretaries and Directors to join him to celebrate excellence and reward dedication to duty.
Mr. Fagbohun also commended the Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, for being a worthy leader and mentor, who carried all his officers along in the affairs of the Bureau, else, there would have been administrative lacuna when he was away and called on other heads in any capacity to always give their subordinates the opportunity to excel while discharging their statutory duties.
“If we keep on blaming people for not doing the right thing, if we keep correcting people when they go wrong, then, when people do the right thing, it is good, fit and proper to acknowledge such, that’s why we are gathered here today to celebrate excellence and dedication to duty. I congratulate both of you”, the HoS said.
Adding his voice, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, whose joy knew no bounds that such was happening under his purview, thanked the Head of Service for the initiative and his leadership style, and added that the gesture would encourage more excellence to be brought to the Civil Service.
Responding on behalf of the two beneficiaries, Mr. Adebakin, said they were just discharging their statutory duties and never knew they were being watched and appreciated the Head of Service for singling them out for the commendation as it came to them as a huge surprise, especially as this is the first time he’s experiencing such.
