The vice-president, Senator kasim Shettima made this known this Saturday at the 37th edition of the Akesan day festival held at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu-Remo,Ogun State,
The vice-president described Akesan day as a testimony to the potential that lies with the citizens of the country when they unite under the banner of their shared heritage.
The Vice President, who was the special gueat of honor at the occasion also called on the people of the country to harness the achievement of the past leaders to show a brighter future for generations to come, urging Nigerians to learn from Iperu-Remo the spirit of unity through cultural heritage
Senator shetima while thanking Governor Dapo Abiodun and the people of Iperu-Remo for reminding the government and people of the country of the importance of culture in nation building through the preservation of tradition, noted that in celebrating culture, the people also celebrate their identity and pride.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Governor;Prince Dapo Abiodun, has assured the people of the state that his government would continue to embrace activities that will promote peaceful coexistence among the people of the state
Speaking at the 37th edition of akesan day festival this Saturday at Iperu-Remo governor Abiodun noted that the state was blessed with various cultural heritage that serve as a bond among the people
Whie commending the people of Iperu-Remo land on this year celebrations, the governor said that the people of the town shared cultural affinity with the people of ile-ife,adding that his administration would continue to promote culture and tradition to sustain and promote the existing peace and harmony across the state
On gateway International agro cargo airport, Governor Abiodun assured that commercial operation would soon begin at the Airport which is nearing completion, saying that his administration would consolidate on the successes recorded during the first term to better the lives of the people of the state.
