The royal fathers in Ijebuland this Monday unanimously endorsed Governor Dapo Abiodun for a second term in office.
Leading other monarchs, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, noted that governor dapo abiodun has worked assiduously in the past three years and three months to justify his second term in office
Oba Adetona who spoke through his representative, the Dagburewa of Idowa, Oba Yunusa Adekoya, at the commissioning of Igan Road at Ago-Iwoye, in Ijebu North Local Government Area described the governor as a promise keeper whose tenure has engendered unexpected development into the state
According to the monarch governor abiodun has done very well by fulfilling the promises made to the people of the state in 2019 which has made 2023 to be sure
Also endorsing the governor for another term, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba AbdulRasak Adenugba, informed that people of the ancient town came out in large number to affirm the candidacy of the governor for second term stating that the governor has restored confidence in government by keeping the promises made to the people during the electioneering campaign
Ebumawe used the opportunity to appreciate the governor for embarking on reconstruction work on the road linkng the University town to other Ijebu and Remo towns and villages.
The Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, Oba Lawrence Adebajo, in a remark reaffirmed the stance of other monarchs in Ijebuland, stressing that: “In the short period he assumed the position of Oba in the town, the governor has changed his perception from taking politicians as liars assuring that the people of ijebu-igbo would massively support the governor come 2023
The chairman of Ago-Iwoye community development Committee, CDC, Mr gbenga nuberu and the president of ogun state students Union, comrade simeon damilola in separate remarks urged the governor not to be distracted by antics of certain politicians, but continue to ensure sustenance of the momentum beyond the elections2
