A new Chairman has been elected for the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, (BON)
He is Mr John Ugbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Multi Choice Nigeria.
He defeated his close rival, Mr Godfrey Ohuabunwa of Multimesh Media.
Mr Ugbe scored 63 votes to beat his opponent who scored 35 votes.
The new BON chairman is an Engineer by profession, who has been working with Multi Choice Nigeria for over 15 years.
He was elected at the 75th General Assembly and 20th Annual General Meeting of BON with the theme, Broadcasting: Between National Interest and Public Interest held in Kano.
OGBC General Manager, Mrs Toyin Sogbesan who is attending the BON event in Kano reports that the Kano State Governor, Dr Abubakar Umar Ganduje declared opened the 75th General Assembly of BON which attracted participants from over 100 broadcast organisations across the country.
Mr Ugbe in his acceptance speech promised to use his wealth of experience to ensure the transformation of BON, while also promising to unite the association.
