The well worked out 0-0 draw away at Rovers FC in Calabar at the UJ Esuene stadium has kept Abeokuta based FC Nilayo in contention for a promotion chase in the Nigeria National League.
Even though the management of the club has stressed that it is taking the league a game at a time, a good start to the season has placed the Olopade Boys on third position with seven points, five adrift of B1 leaders Shooting Stars and just one behind Osun United in second place.
FC Nilayo began the season with a 2-1 home win over Nnewi United before narrowly losing 1-0 to Vandrezzer FC in Lagos.
The defeat was followed by a hard fought 1-0 home win against Ekiti United and then the 0-0 draw with Rovers of Calabar at the UJ Esuene stadium.
Up next for the Sunday Olusoji tutored side is a home game with Giant Brillars Football Club coming up on Thursday at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abeokuta, it will be followed with a trip to Omoku, Rivers state for a date against Go Round FC
