GOVERNOR ABIODUN SIGNS 2021 APPROPRIATION BILL INTO LAW

The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has signed the 2021 appropriation bill of 338.6 billion into law.

Signing the budget tagged budget of recovery and sustainability into law this midweek at the Exco Chamber, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun explained that the budget prepared to address the challenges created by the pandemic would take care of various sectors including infrastructure, Housing, Health, Education and provision of adequate security for  lives and property which is paramount to the current administration.

The Governor iwho described the budget as an important document towards the development of the state said it would be implemented based on the mantra of the current administration ISEYA as a means of delivering it’s agenda of building the future of the state together

Mr Governor pointed out that the state economy is currently battered by the pandemic as the state resources are already dwindling, stressing that despite the challenges government was able to pay the minimum wage to the workers and carried out other developmental projects across the state

Applauding members of the state House of Assembly for accelerating the passage of the bill, Governor abiotdun said it was another demonstration of seriousness the lawmakers attached to the welfare and well-being of the people of the state

While expressing optimism that the new year will bring in a lot of recovery to the state due to the effects of the global pandemic coupled with the endsars protest, Governor Abiodun maintained that the emergence of the second wave of the pandemic gives concern as the nation continued to record more cases daily

The Governor who expressed regret that people are no longer observing the precautionary measures, called on the lawmakers to join hands with the executive in mitigating it’s spread by educating the people at the grassroots about the danger of the disease

Earlier, the Speaker of the House,  theHthe Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo while presenting the budget to Governor Dapo Abiodun informed that the budget passed through the necessary legislative procedures before its passage.
