The current administration under Governor Dapo Abiodun has been commended for bringing normalcy to the Tai Solarin College of Education,Omu Ijebu.
The Provost ,Dr Adeola Kiadese gave the commendation while defending the budget performance of the college before the house Committee on education, on Wednesday.
According to the Provost,since the inception of the current administration,there has been improvement in the payment of salaries and revenue generation.
Dr Kiadese told the Committee, under the chairmanship of Assemblyman Ademuyiwa Adeyemi,that the college is poised to improve on its revenue generation through cultivation of 50 hectares of cassava just as it has keyed into the govt’s anchor borrowers programme.
He noted that the approval for the construction of 3000 sitting capacity lecture hall is a clear demonstration of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s commitment towards providing a conducive teaching and learning in the college.
In their presentations,the Acting Rector, Gateway Industrial and Petro-Gas Institute Oni , Mr Oladipo Alebiosu, appealed to the state government to increase its funding for better performance.
He made it known that the institute is collaborating with the ministry of Agriculture as well as the Environment,to go into aquatic venture within the community to enhance its revenue drive.
Chairman and other members of the committee,urged both institutions to gear up for post covid 19 era by improving on their revenue generation.
