OGUN ASSEMBLY SCRUTINISES MDAs ACCOUNTS

The Ogun State House of Assembly has charged the management team of the State Signage and Advertisement Agency to further improve on her financial and administrative management style in line with the principle of transparency and accountability of the public service.

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Account and Anti-corruption, Assemblyman Musefiu Lamidi said this at the continuation of the 2018 audit report consideration of some MDAs, with a directive to the agency to immediately furnish the committee with the statements of all accounts being operated from 2018 till June 2020.

The Chairman in company of other lawmakers also called for the Banks’ reconciliation statements of the Agency between January-December 2018 and likewise 2019, stressing the need for diligence and uprightness in the runnings of the affairs of the agency, with a view to promoting credible governance.

The lawmakers urged the management team to address all issues raised in the audit report, especially the insurance of all fixed assets and regular update of asset register.

The Committee also considered the audit report of the State Hospital, Ota.

In his report,the Medical Director of the hospital,Dr Taofeek Somade the hospital generated N236.3 million btw Jan and dec 2019.
