Parents, Guardians,Care-givers have again been charged not to expose the children to the social media unnecessarily and without proper monitoring.
This is important now that children are being made to handle different social media gadgets for on-line learning as a result of the covid-19 outbreak .
Expressing worry at the rate the young ones engage in immoral acts such as masturbation and other sexual activities as a result of what they see on various online platforms, a child protection Advocate,Mrs Adetoun Dally, during a chat with OGBC this Saturday noted that physical, sexual, emotional and verbal abuse are on the increase among children.
While urging parents to set boundaries and regulate what get to the minds of their children, Mrs Dally saw the need to expose the young ones to educative games like scrabble, chess, and monopoly as well as skills such as baking, sewing and cooking.
The child protection Advocate also wants adults to cultivate meaningful relationships with the young ones ,stressing that technology and its negative effects on the children should not be swept under the carpet.
