The Ogun State Government has commenced plans to reposition the scope and operations of the various model schools in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs Ronke Soyombo, made this known during a strategic meeting with stakeholders of the selected 31 model schools with boarding facilities in the state to brainstorm on issues affecting them as part of efforts to develop the education sector.

Mrs Soyombo who stated that the model schools in the four divisions of the state need modern day boarding facilities to encourage parents to enroll their wards in boarding houses noted that boarding facilities encourage character development and discourage distractions.

While acknowledging, the roles of the Parent Teacher’s Association and the Old Students Association as partners in the “Rebuilding our future together” agenda of the present administration Mrs Soyombo assured that the government would not rest on its oars in restoring the standard of education in the state.
