The court of appeal sitting in Ibadan on Friday dismissed the appeal by the Labour Party (LP) against the victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun in the March 9,Governorship election in Ogun State.

The court described the Labour Party’s repeated challenge of the Governor’s election as lacking merit and out rightly frivolous.

The submission of Governor Abiodun and the All Progressive Congress (APC) counsel, Barrister Abeeb Ajayi was upheld by the court which said the Governor was duly elected and that calling for the invalidation of the election that returned him cannot stand as legal requirement for the nullification of the election.

The LP went to the appeal court after losing at the Tribunal for the third time in its quest to use the court to cancel the March 9 Governorship election in the state.
