MRS. ABIODUN, LEARN AFRICA PLC DONATE LEARNING MATERIALS

Wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun in partnership with Learn Africa Plc, has donated over 42,000 textbooks to public primary and secondary schools in the State, as part of efforts to enhance the standard and quality of education in the State.

Mrs. Abiodun, at the presentation of textbooks to some selected primary and secondary public schools, in conjunction with Learn Africa Plc, held at the MTR Hall, GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta, said the donation of the learning materials, was in line with the mission of the present administration, in ensuring that all children in the State had access to quality education.

She called on individuals and corporate organisations to borrow a leaf from the donor and support the upliftment of education in the State’s public schools, urging students to take advantage of the laudable gesture and effectively utilise the textbooks to improve their academic performance.

The Wife of the Governor expressed gratitude to Learn Africa Plc, for partnering with her Office, pointing out that the leaning materials would aid in improving the learning skills of the students.

‘’I implore the students to make use of the textbooks in their schools, which I believe will make you the future leaders of tomorrow. I also appreciate the kind gesture of Learn Africa Plc to the development of education in Ogun State’’, she stated.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Olu-Ola Aikulola, described education, as life and necessity of human advancement, lauding the gesture, which he said, was a contribution to nation building.

The Secretary, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Wasiu Kuye, in his goodwill message, commended Learn Africa Plc for the rich and relevant contents of the books, noting that the donation came at a time when there was a challenge of inadequate access to textbooks by learners.

In his remark, the Managing Director, Learn Africa Plc, Alhaji Salisu Bala, said his company will do everything possible to enhance and promote the educational standard in the State.
