The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has pleaded with the traditional rulers to support the government in resolving the problem of insecurity currently pervading the nation.
Professor Osinbajo made the plea after a behind chosed door consultative meeting alongside with Governor of Ogun state Prince Dapo Abiodun at the palaces of Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Sikiru Adetona in Ijebu ode.
Briefing newsmen, The Vice president said the meeting that was arranged at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari was to sensitize the traditional rulers and intimate them about various steps being taken by the government in ensuring peace and harmony in the country.
He posited that role of traditional rulers in peace keeping cannot be over emphasized due to their closeness to the grassroots assuring that the federal government will continue to relate with the monarchs who the described as the symbol of unity and peace in getting over the challenge.
The number two man in the country harped on the need for Nigerians to close ranks and promote co-existence for the advancement of the nation and the prosperity of individuals.
